Madre Adoptiva
Have I ever told you that my sister is a frickin' genius? No? Well, she is. Just know that, ok?

Not only was she able to break my delicate mold of stripes don't go with polka dots mentality, she taught me how to chain sew.

What is chain sewing? It is the single most genius idea to ever creep into the sewing world (maybe not, but it could be). When you have a buttload of little scraps of fabrics to sew together in pairs, you don't break the thread off the back of the machine after each one. Instead, you continue to sew all the pieces together until you have a chain of them all strung together with thread, which you cut off later. Frickin' genius.

If she hadn't shown me that little trick, I'd still be sewing little scraps of fabric together and trimming all the little threads one by one.

Thanks Bubba! You frickin' genius, you.

And, here is the quilt.
